Explore some of the regions highlights - grand historical homes in beautiful countryside, close to the sea, past large lakes and along country roads.

Guided Cycle Tour : Tre Slott

A fantastic guided cycle ride through country lanes, along coastal cycle paths (and parts of Ystad) passing three historic and grand Swedish stately homes.


Beginning at Red Bird Farm - or an alternative start point of Ystad Saltsjöbad Hotel -  its an easy ride through Ystad, out west of the town where you will cycle along a cycle path which hugs the Baltic Sea, enjoying wide open views of the beach and beyond, until you make a turn inland and up to the magestic house at Charlottenlund. From here the route winds through small lanes, with occasional sea views across the open fields, and then will bring you to the jewel in local historic homes - Marsvinsholm Slott. This house was built in the 14th C, owned by a Danish king and then his daughter, Queen Margrethe, where in 1644 the present house was constructed by a Danish nobelman. After the Scanian wars between Denmark & Sweden, it passed to Swedish families and is still in private ownership.

The ride continues through countryside past the large and quiet Krageholm lake, with it's protected status as a bird santurary, and its nearby grand house, part of a working farm and owned by Skåne's largest landowner.


From here its a gentle. pleasant ride back to the Farm, passing small village churches and nature reserves where you are likely to spot herds of deer and many bird species.

This ancient stone boat-shaped megalith is a real highlight of Sweden's histocial past. Enjoy an alternative way to vist, at a slower pace and taking in far more than by car.

Cycle Tour : Ales Stenar

Guided cycle tour from Red Bird Farm to Kåseberga.

Visit one of Sweden’s most enigmatic sights, the ancient monolithic circle at Ales Stenar, positioned on a wonderful rugged steppe above the Baltic where you can enjoy sea and cliff views whilst marvelling at the spiritual and historic stones.

The route begins with undulating farm land, Skånes smallest medieval church and distant sea views onto long, flat roads that bring you down to the coast east of Ystad. Grazing cattle, the scent of sea air and small local settlements and farms lead to the quaint little village of Kåseberga and then down to it's small fishing harbour, which lands many catches of fish to local stores and restaurants still. 

Above the harbour is the incredible stone site - sat quietly, unaffected by commercialism save for an information board (located at a distance from the site so as not to modernise the experience).

 Walk among the stones, marvel at the ancient footsteps over the centuries that have walked the same paths and enjoy far-reaching sea views, including to the Danish island of Bornholm , 40 km SW of Ystad, and spot many butterfly and bird species that thrive in the natural environment.


-Starting point Red Bird Farm 45km round trip - Easy to intermediate difficulty. In the main a flat ride, with slight elevation at start and finish at the villages of Borrie and St.Herrestad, then a flat ride along Östra Kustvägen to the village of Kåseberga.

A fantastic start to this route is alongside the unspoilt beaches and through the shore-hugging woodlands, culminating in the majestic wonder of Ales Stenar on the cliffs above Kåseberga & the Baltic sea.

Cycle Tour : Ystad Saltsjöbad to Ales Stenar

Visit one of Sweden’s most enigmatic sights, the ancient monolithic circle at Ales Stenar, positioned on a wonderful rugged steppe above the Baltic where you can enjoy sea and cliff views whilst marvelling at the spiritual and historic stones.

The route begins at the beautiful beach at Ystad Saltsjöbad hotel, where you can cycle along the dedicated path between the sand and glorious homes from the 19th centrury, cute & colourful beach huts and then into the woodland path which borders the sand dunes and gives it's name to the area - Sandskogen, meaning 'Sand Woodland'. The sea and wartime defence bunkers often reveal themselves between the trees but the scent and the sound of the waves is always close. As you leave Nybrostrand along the cycle path you will approach the roads to Kåseberga.  A quaint little village & it's small fishing harbour, which lands many catches of fish to local stores and restaurants still. Alongside the fishing boats, you can enjoy your fika or lunch (according to your booking & time of day), inside in brisker weather or outisde with the sea practically lapping at your feet! All locally produced foods of the highest quality.

Combine valley roads through the abundant bird and animal habitats, gentle winding river and associated meadows and woodlkand trails with some small hamlets that feature wonderful traditional buildings of interest.

Cycle Tour : Fyledalen

It's an opportunity to enjoy the fabulous countryside and connect with the nature around the Fyledalen Nature reserve, full of birds of prey, herds of deer and stags with  sometimes lucky sightings of wild pigs. The routes take you alongside the river valley, with some woodland climbs and easy roads through quiet Swedish villages where en route you can see many traditional old cottages along with some magnificent grand houses. For Wallander fans you can also visit the site of the church at Baldringe which features in the famous Swedish detective series….

A short ride out from Red Bird Farm and you enter one of Skåne's jewels.....Fyledalen! 


It's a beautiful nature reserve full of rare plants and animals! Regarded as Northern Europe's best winter study sites for Eagles and rated as one of Sweden's ten most valuable natural areas by the Nordic Council.


A favoured place to stop for the inclusive lunch prepared on the outside grill, looks out along the prehistoric valley.

Snogeholm is an incredible location in all seasons, all weathers - and with a ride through the countryside to this location with the addition of home-cooked soup is not to be missed!

Cycle Tour : Snogeholm & Soup Kitchen

From Red Bird Farm, this tour will take you out along easy roads to Krageholm, an historic country estate and large lake with bird sanctuary, and then on along quiet undulating roads, with occasional glimpses of a more hidden lake, past horse farms and areas of open countryside where you will likely see herds of deer grazing, and even the local wild boar on occasion. You will see many birds of prey overhead and can enjoy the quiet, clean air. Take a rest and a 'fika' break beside the lake at Snogeholm, which is truly a spot of outstanding beauty, before winding your way down wooded roads to a unique dining experience!

Seated on animal skins around an open fire, your host will serve you her daily recipe of delicious, warming and satisfying home made soup, all natural ingredients and served with plenty of fresh bread and coffee brewed over the flames.

After lunch, you take the return route home, and have many opportunites to take some memorable photos.

Water Activity

Unique giant stand-up paddle boards for this region of Sweden will enable you to create a great, fun and unusual time - especially good for families with older children ... which is sometimes hard to find something to suit!

MEGA S.U.P.

A fun and safe water activity for all to enjoy, as a family, or a group of friends!

For 6/7 people, up to a total weight of 650 kg, The size of these boards mean that they are very stable and can be used as large floating rafts to get out on the water in an easy way to experience all parts of the wonderful environment at the beautiful lake at Sövde (Sövdesjön). 

An unhurried experience where you can spend time exploring the lake, see the hidden bays and secluded beaches, and use the MEGA Board as a platform to sunbathe and swim in the middle of the lake!  Enhance your experience and enjoy a breakfast, ‘fika’ or lunch on the shore!

Are you a larger group or company looking for a team experience? We can create some fun challenges and competitions and tailor the time on the water to suit you.

Sövdesjön is a lake in Sjöbo municipality - about 9km SSW of Sjöbo - in Skåne. The lake is 8.1 meters deep, has an area of ​​2.72 square kilometers and is located 34 meters above sea level. Sövdesjön is shallow and surrounded by sandy beaches and borders the vast natural region of Snögeholm, very popular for walking, camping and very unspoilt.

The lake at Sövde has good water quality and is used for swimming, with plenty of space to picnic. It is especially good for small children with a childs bathing area, sandy area to play and is usually very good temperatures in the summer.. The most easily accessible part is located on the northern part of the lake, next to Sövde community.

There are good bus connections and many parking spaces, with public toilets and refreshment facilities nearby.

A wonderful activity for the solo experience, or of course, great to share with friends, family or colleagues.

SINGLE S.U.P.

If you have always wanted to try this hugely popular, and very rewarding activity - or even if you are an experienced boarder - let us organise a great time for you. We have all the boards, paddles and lifevests, as well as a number of wet suits for those who wish to go out in less than warm seasons of the year.

With boards of different sizes, for varying weights of user, we can accommodate a parent and child (with small lifevests available) on one board, or perhaps even your dog!  

Ideal for solo activities, or hire with friends and family and enjoy time together.

Our first lake of choice is nearby Sövdesjön - large, calm and with easy access to the water and good facilities such as parking, toilets, refreshments and wide open spaces where you can relax and enjoy the setting.. There is also great wild swimming here too!

Simple instruction and tips on how to get the most out of your session will enable you to get out on the water, even if you are a beginner.

Add on a lunch, fika or breakfast for an early morning uplifting start to the day, or even on occassion when the conditions are right, we can offer full moon tours, which are truly magical.

WATER CYCLING

Unique in Sweden and throughout Scandinavia! Our water bikes are designed by an aviation engineer and are of the highest quality, stable but still light and so easy to use! No special skills needed, you can simply hop on and enjoy a fun experience!


With our recumbent (lower seating position) water cycle your comfort and stability are guaranteed! You can enjoy the waves and pedal along the shoreline of the beautiful Baltic Sea at Ystad! 


Best advice and tips are given to ensure a memorable and fun experience. 

These environmentally friendly cycles do not use a motor, make no noise and pose no threat to wildlife. Powered only by ‘pedal power’!



When the bikes are on shore, Rental periods are for a minimum of 30 minutes and cannot be shared! One person per cycle per period.


The only restrictions are a minimum height of 120 cm,  and you must be able to swim.

You must respect the equipment, follow instruction and wear a life vest! 


Fantastic fun for families and groups of friends!


Minimum duration 30 minute hire period, life vests provided and must be worn at all times whilst using the equipment.

Fyledalen - Woodland valley, grand houses & churches

It's an opportunity to enjoy the fabulous countryside and connect with the nature around the Fyledalen Nature reserve, full of birds of prey, herds of deer and stags, often with sightings of wild pigs.

The landscape is a mix of quiet tree-lined country roads, which wind through country farms, past ground houses and many small traditional Swedish homes & hamlets, or grass tracks that border woddland and open fields and moor. You can connect with designated trails through ancient woodland, and of course can combine the routes how you wish.

Fyledalen is centerd around a  river valley, with meadows, grazing, mixed forest of birch, oaks and more and the walking trails will enable you to take in many different views and wildlife, especially bird species notably birds of prey.


It's a beautiful nature reserve full of rare plants and animals, regarded as Northern Europe's best winter study sites for Eagles and rated as one of Sweden's ten most valuable natural areas by the Nordic Council.



For Wallander fans you can also visit the church at Baldringe which features in the famous Swedish detective series, which is a white stone church built at the end of the 1100's in the Roman style, with a granite limestone font from Gotland installed in the 13thC. There is also a very interesting Viking era rune stone located 13m west of the church's west gable. The tower and remodelling of the church was added in the 1800's. Its a beautifully located, well maintained site.

A favoured place to stop for an add-on of lunch can be prepared on the outside grill, looking out along the peaceful valley.


The walks can be guided, or you can be free to walk in your own company and we will provided you with maps and key information and recommendations to help you get the most out of your experience.
